The West Nile virus has hit San Antonio.

Officials at Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston said three pools of the seven collected at the honor guard horse stables have been infected with the virus.

They said officials at the San Antonio Medical Center have confirmed one human case of West Nile virus, and a second case is suspected.

Bexar County health officials have been notified.  JBSA-Fort Sam has treated the infected horse stable area.

On Wednesday Dallas County officials in North Texas reported their ninth death from the virus.
