Distracted driving claims roughly 5,500 lives a year and causes about a half million injuries. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, drivers using hand-held devices are four times more likely to get into a crash serious enough to cause injury. To make a point to the most vulnerable drivers, the Mayo Clinic is rolling out a virtual reality check for teens.
