Girl, 11, killed in crash, driver accused of DWI

SAN ANTONIO -- Police said an 11-year-old girl was killed in a crash on the north side Tuesday evening.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the girl was a passenger in a Pontiac Grand Prix as the vehicle made a left turn from northbound Wetmore Road to the access road of Wurzbach Parkway.

Police said the driver of the Pontiac failed to yield the right-of-way to a 2008 Dodge Dakota traveling southbound on Wetmore around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The girl, Charity Siler, suffered catastrophic injuries on impact. Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene.

39-year-old Julie Marie Siler, the driver of the Pontiac, was arrested at the scene and accused of intoxication manslaughter.

She was taken into custody on $50,000 bond.
