Pamerleau leads GOP race for Bexar County Sheriff; Dem race headed for runoff

SAN ANTONIO -- The Democratic race for Bexar County Sheriff is headed for a runoff as Sheriff Amadeo Ortiz fell short of 50 percent of the votes.

Ortiz will likely face Andy Lopez, who had 20 percent of the votes with 96 percent of precincts accounted for. Ortiz had 44 percent at that same time.

The winner of the Democratic runoff with face Susan Pamerleau, who led the Republican race for Bexar County Sheriff late into the night with 54 percent of votes.

Ralph Diaz trailed Pamerleau with 27 percent; followed by Donald Falcon with 10 percent.
