PEARLAND, Texas (AP) — State Rep. Randy Weber has won the Republican nomination to replace Ron Paul in Congressional District 14.
The Pearland resident will face Democratic nominee Nick Lampson in the general election on Nov. 6. Rep. Ron Paul, a Republican who has represented the southeast Texas district since 1997, announced that he would not be seeking re-election to concentrate on a bid for the Republican presidential nomination, which he lost.
Ten candidates entered the Republican race for the nomination.
