DALLAS -- A driver surrendered to police after a nearly one-hour pursuit that led police from Fort Worth into the city of Dallas Thursday afternoon.
The chase began when Forth Worth police attempted to stop a vehicle and the plates fell off.
The driver, identified as 41-year-old Ester Rashida Renee, took off and led police on a chase down Interstate 20 to Dowdy Ferry Road in Dallas. She then turned onto northbound I-45, exited and traveled through East Dallas, then downtown Dallas and Uptown.
She then went northbound on the Dallas North Tollway and stopped on a Highland Park street.
Just before 1:30 p.m., Renee parked the car in the 6000 block of Lomo Alto Drive, exited with her hands up, and walked backwards into police custody.
Renee has an outstanding warrant for theft under $1,500, an outstanding warrant for evading arrest /vehicle, and now evading arrest detention after Thursday's chase.
