Surveillance video shows shooting at Uvalde store

The Uvalde Police Department announced that they’ve arrested a man that robbed a store on Wednesday and shot at the clerk along with his accomplice.

UPD has identified the gunman as 33-year-old Gerardo Cobarrubias Gonzales and his accomplice as 24-year-old Brando Briseno.

According to UPD, the two men entered the Rolling Hills Tobacco Store at 524 West Main Street in Uvalde around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and shortly thereafter, Gonzales pulled out a gun, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded cash from the register.

Just before he left, Gonzales fired at the clerk at point-blank range, but did not hit the clerk, UPD says.

Police said that Briseno was apprehended Wednesday night as the result of a traffic stop and Gonzales was arrested about five hours later.

Both have been charged with aggravated robbery.
