Schools offer counselors to Sutherland Springs students

School districts in the areas near Sutherland Springs are adding grief counselors today to help them deal with the deadly shooting at the First Baptist Church.

School districts around Sutherland Springs are prepared to help students cope with the tragedy from Sunday's mass shooting.

In a statement posted on their website Sunday evening, Stockdale I-S-D said school campuses will have grievance counselors available to help students. Campus administrators will meet with faculty and staff prior to students' arrival.

Floresville I-S-D will adjust bus routes Monday morning. School counselors in the district will be aided by grief counselors to provide support to the students, according to a statement on the district's website.

La Vernia I-S-D announced on Facebook that additional police surveillance will provide extra security throughout the week. Grief counselors will be available to meet with students one-on-one, and every request for assistance would be honored.

All three school districts will be in session Monday morning.
