Suspect, deputies identified in Schertz shootout that left child dead

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office released the names of the four deputies who fired their weapons at the suspect they believed was armed on Thursday.

SCHERTZ - The Bexar County Sheriff's Office released the names of the four deputies who fired their weapons at the suspect they believed was armed in a Schertz mobile home park on Thursday. The incident ended with the suspect dead as well as a child in the home.

The deputies' time with Bexar County ranges from 2 years to 27 years.

  • Deputy John Aguillon (27 years)
  • Deputy George Herrera (16 years)
  • Deputy Jesse Arias (7 years)
  • Reserve Deputy Johnny Longoria (2 years)

Each officer is currently on administrative leave. Sheriff Salazar said officials are reviewing body cam footage.

BCSO also identified the suspect as 30-year-old Amanda Lenee Jones. Jones was wanted on several felony warrants.
