SAPD investigating social media threat of violence

SAPD is investigating threats of violence made on social media by someone saying they were going shoot up a public place.

KENS 5 has confirmed that the San Antonio Police Department is investigating a threat made on social media targeting a San Antonio hot spot.

A man on Facebook threatened to shoot up the "Strip."

In one post, the man threatened to drive down Main Street with loaded guns ready to shoot people on sight.

SAPD says that they’ve taken precautionary measures including notifying the businesses in the area and implementing additional security measures to make sure that the public is safe.

Police did not say whether or not they had made contact with the person that made the threats.
