Arrest made in hit-and-run that injured woman

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police arrested a 19-year-old in connection with a hit-and-run that was caught on camera.

The video showed two people, 21-year-old Ashley Martinez, and her boyfriend, skateboarding down De Zavala Road when suddenly a gray car hit Martinez and drags her nearly 15 feet. In the video, you can see her boyfriend running back and pounding on the car window to get the driver to stop.

As Martinez rolls out from under the car, the driver takes off.

Martinez suffered serious injuries but survived.

The video helped the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force track down the driver identified as 19-year-old Nathan Losoya.

“In this case, we were very fortunate,” SAPD Sgt. Michelle Ramos said. “It was during the day, plenty of witnesses out there and they were able to work on those leads and get this individual.”

Losoya faces a charge of failure to stop and render aid causing serious bodily injury.
