Police identify man killed in northeast-side home invasion

Authorities said around 10 p.m. Thursday, a gunman walked into a home and killed 43-year-old Jose Garcia-Martinez with a single gunshot wound to the neck.

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police have identified the man shot and killed in a north-side home invasion Thursday night.

Authorities said around 10 p.m. Thursday, a gunman walked into a home and killed 43-year-old Jose Garcia-Martinez with a single gunshot wound to the neck.

It happened not far from Austin Highway in the 100 block of Northgate Drive.

Martinez was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. He has only been identified as a 43-year-old Hispanic male.

Neighbors said an argument may have led to the deadly shooting.

SAPD is still investigating what happened and the gunman is still on the loose.
