Police say that six women were targeted by 18-year-old Anton Jamail Harris. He's in the Bexar County Jail facing four counts of aggravated sexual assault, one count of attempted sexual assault, and an aggravated robbery charge.
The San Antonio Police Department says that all the attacks happened in the Eckert and Huebner area of town.
KENS 5 went to the address listed as Harris’s last place of residence. Nobody answered the door, but neighbors say that late Thursday night, police crashed through to execute a search warrant.
“I heard something that sounded like loud booms and I believe it was them breaking the door down,” said one woman who didn’t want to be identified and added that she was shocked when she realized that the crime wave hit so close to home. “Once we saw the news conference, we put two and two together.”
Less than two miles away from the residence is Marshall High School. School’s out for the summer, but classmates have flooded Facebook with comments about the former basketball player they said was a popular student.
Northside ISD officials confirmed that Harris is a recent graduate and walked the stage at the Alamodome on Tuesday to receive a diploma.
Just down the street on Bandera Road, the management team at Peter Piper Pizza confirmed that Harris worked there until Wednesday, the day before he was arrested. They had no comment except to say that Harris was fired, with cause, before his arrest.
Others at the restaurant said that Harris never caused any trouble and that they, like everyone else, were shocked when they heard that he’d been charged with a series of sexual assaults.
