Parents of murdered toddler make emotional plea to help find the killer

The parents of a toddler shot and killed are asking the community for help to catch their son's murderer.

The parents of 3-year-old Rene Blancas Jr., who was murdered two weeks ago, are begging for tips that will lead to finding the killer.

"We just want whoever did this off the street," Rene Blancas Sr. said. "We don't want this to happen to any other family. It's horrible and I hate that it happened to my son."

The toddler was shot and killed on November 4 on the corner of New Laredo Highway and Briggs Street while riding in the family vehicle just days before his fourth birthday.

The San Antonio Police Department say that the investigation remains active but they have not arrested a suspect.

“The smallest tip is not small, just call,” Blancas pleaded.

SAPD has released a sketch of the suspect.

Police have also released a photo of the 2006 Honda Civic (gold or beige) car he was driving.

If you have any information contact Crime Stoppers or SAPD's homicide unit.
