Man injured in northwest-side shooting, police say

SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Police Department said a man was injured in a drive-by shooting on the northwest side Friday.

Police responded to a call for shots fired around 8 a.m. in the 2300 block of West Poplar Street.

SAPD said a man in his 30s was outside of his home when a car came by, and an argument ensued. Police said there were two people in the car.

Police said someone inside the car opened fire on the man, and the car fled west on Poplar.

Neither the witnesses in the house nor the victim were being cooperative, according to SAPD.

The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment.

However, a woman KENS 5 spoke with who lives in the area also claimed the shooter in this case got out of the car and shot the victim three times.

She said she witnessed the incident and claims she saw the men get into a physical fight.

This is a developing story, and will continue to post updates as they become available.
