I-37 shut down in Three Rivers, TX due to hostage situation

According to KENS 5 sister station KIII, the northbound and southbound lanes of I-37 have been shut down in Three Rivers due to a hostage situation.

The traffic is causing major delays for people traveling to and from South Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a man is barricaded inside a home at the Three Rivers exit of I-37. The suspect reportedly has two hostages inside the home with him and has fired shots at sheriff's deputies.

Deputies from the Live Oak Sheriff's Office have shut down traffic on both sides as well as frontage roads to prevent possible injuries to drivers.
