A mother is asking for your help to put her son's killer behind bars as this week marked one year since the murder of James Hernandez.
Trish Soto said that this past year has been the worst.
"I mean, from this point on, it will be for the rest of my life," she said.
James was her only child. She said that he was her world.
"I remember it as it was yesterday," she said. "November 30, 2016."
A group of masked men shot and killed Hernandez at his apartment on the 6200 block of Roxbury Drive. Police are calling it a home invasion.
"They succeeded in killing my son, but they are not going to get away with it," she said. "Because that is the price that any criminal will have to pay."
The last time she saw him was Thanksgiving. She said that the holidays are painful reminders. She also has a message to the person responsible for taking her son's life:
"I know that my son is living in eternal life, and he will live in eternal hell. And the fact is all he did was destroy me, destroy his family, and his friends who loved him."
Soto begs anyone with any information to come forward about the murder. You can contact Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP. You can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a $5,000 reward.
