Former NISD employee charged with sex abuse of a child

According to the Bexar County Magistrate’s Office, James Schwegmann, a former NISD employee, has been arrested for continuous sex abuse of a child, a first-degree felony.

The 38-year-old Schwegmann was a math teacher and swim coach for several years at Warren High School.

He was placed on administrative leave in April of 2016, but a district spokesperson was unable to confirm when his employment officially ended.

If convicted, Schwegmann faces a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison with a maximum penalty of 99 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Schwegmann’s bond has been set at $75,000.
