San Antonio – An arrest affidavit revealed new information about the murder of a woman in Converse March 16.
In the early morning hours, officers were called to the scene of a disturbance at the Towne East Apartments located on Farm to Market Road 78, the affidavit says.
Police responding to the incident found an unresponsive woman later identified as Raquel Mascorro, 34, who was lying covered in blood on the ground in front of the front doors of two apartments.
Officers followed a trail of blood that led to a blood-stained white Lexus car. A short time later Mascorro was pronounced dead having suffered apparent large cuts across her throat and thigh.
Police received a tip from a person who told them that Elvin Armas, 23, called to say he had made a bad mistake.
The tipster told police that Armas was from Honduras and also said that he arranged to meet a woman at a car to have sex in exchange for money.
Armas reportedly told Mascorro that he didn’t have any money after having sex with her and she then became angry and stabbed him with a knife.
He then took the knife away from her and used it to cut her, according to the information in the tip that police received.
Police made contact with Armas at his job site where he was detained and later arrested and charged with murder.
Armas was in possession of a Honduras identification card, but his immigration status has yet to be determined, according to information from a spokesperson for the Converse Police Department.
