SAN ANTONIO - A clerk was stabbed during a robbery attempt in what police say is the latest in a string of robberies on the southwest side.

A man in his 30’s tried to rob the Dollar General on Southwest Military Drive around 8:30 Monday night. He reportedly started fighting with the store clerk and the clerk was stabbed.

The employee was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

Police say this is the third time in several weeks that this Dollar General has been the target of a robbery. They believe the same suspect is behind several other robberies at stores in this area.

SAPD is advising the store management to hire extra security. They are also encouraging anyone who sees any suspicious behavior to report it to police immediately.
