BCSO arrests murder suspect after standoff, finds body in barrel

SAN ANTONIO -- According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, they arrested a murder suspect following a standoff on Friday night.

In a press release, they say that they received a tip around 10 p.m. that a man had committed a murder and was armed inside a home on the 21300 block of Trumbo on the far south side.

The suspect, Derrick Rodriguez, refused to come out but was taken into custody "without incident" after deputies forced their way into the home, according to BCSO.

Deputies then discovered the body of 33-year-old Abel Salazar inside a barrel nearby.

Rodriguez has been charged with murder.
