The South Bexar County Volunteer Fire Department has been ripped off by thieves at least four times within recent months.

During one of the incidents in July the fire chief intervened.

Investigators say he held 52-year-old Eugene Espinoza at gunpoint until Bexar County deputies arrived.

About three weeks later, detectives chased down the suspect's alleged partner in crime and arrested him.

Thursday morning detectives apprehended the second suspect.

They said 43-year-old Leroy Wahrmund, who is currently on probation, was brought to jail after leading officers on a short foot pursuit.

Now the department is taking its own security measures when it comes to protecting their property.

Both suspects are still in the Bexar County Jail at this time.
