SAN ANTONIO -- Police say a masked gunman was arrested hours after hitting the same West Avenue Mexican restaurant for the second in the less than two weeks.
Police and witnesses said the 20-year-old suspect walked into El Gallo Jalisco, in the 3600 block of West Avenue, around 3 p.m. on Sunday, demanded money and ran away with $500.
Restaurant management said the same man robbed the restaurant for $60 on July 4.
Police were ready after Sunday's robbery. Nearly a dozen officers and a police helicopter were able to wrangle the suspect.
He was arrested only a few block away from El Gallo Jalisco, according to restaurant owners.
The name of the suspect was not immediately available.
Police and restaurant employees both said he was known to walk around in the area of the restaurant.
