SAN ANTONIO -- Police were searching Wednesday morning for a man they say held up a northeast-side Valero without customers even realizing the gas station was being robbed.
Officers said the suspect was carrying a gun when he walked into the Valero on Starlight Terrace and I-35 north around 4 a.m.
Once inside, police said the man demanded cash, which the clerk quickly handed over. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police said the robbery happened so quickly that some customers who were outside pumping gas didn't even realize what had occurred.
Officers searched the area by helicopter and on foot but didn't find the suspect.
