SAN ANTONIO -- Police arrested the man they believe is responsible for punching a Walmart employee while attempting to steal electronics last December.
According to an arrest warrant, Jesus Gault and another suspect tried to steal five Wii consoles and a laptop from a Walmart in the 3300 block of Southeast Military Drive on December 23. The report states that Gault and an accomplice attempted to leave the store with the unpaid items in their cart when a Walmart Loss Prevention Officer approached them to recover the items.
That's when Gault came from behind the employee and punched him in the face. Gault and his accomplice fled the scene with the stolen property.
In early June, pivoting off several leads, the report states that the victim was presented a photo lineup and identified Gault's photo as the person responsible.
Gault remains in police custody and has been charged with robbery.
