A hit-and-run accident late Saturday night sent an off-duty police officer to the hospital.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. Saturday in the 9800 block of Fredericksburg Road.
Police said the driver of a truck was trying to pass a car when he bumped the back wheel of the officer's motorcycle, causing the officer to wipe out.
The driver of that truck then took off, but a witness followed him to his apartment complex.
Police arrested the driver in his apartment, and officers said he admitted to being the driver who hit the motorcycle.
The officer hurt in the crash was at University Hospital on Sunday in serious condition.
