SAN ANTONIO -- Bexar County investigators released new information on a 2010 murder case that they hope will lead them to the killer.

Detectives believe the killer used a car jack to brutally beat Monica Salinas, 37, to death. Salinas was last seen alive on January 4, 2010.

Her body was discovered by some train tracks along the 10,000 block of West Skaggs Street in south-west Bexar County.

At this time, authorities lack a suspect, but they maintain that they are actively tracking down potential leads.

"We contacted Nissan and they're telling us this particular jack belongs to a Nissan Versa between the years of 2007 and 2009," said Detective Louis Antu of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

Those with information about the murder of Monica Salinas are urged to call the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at 335-6070 or Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP.
