SAN ANTONIO -- A 24-year-old man is facing robbery charges after allegedly attacking a Target security guard when confronted about stealing DVDs.
According to a San Antonio police arrest warrant, Arik Modisette was followed by a loss prevention security officer as he and his girlfriend shopped around the store, 3227 Southeast Military Drive.
Modisette was allegedly known to shoplift at the store.
The prevention loss officer told police that he saw Modisette stuffing DVDs into his pockets. He then confronted Modisette as he tried to leave the store.
Modisette allegedly attacked the officer by putting him in a choke hold and punching him several times, police said.
Several DVDs fell out of Modisette's pocket before he bolted from the store, leaving his girlfriend behind, police said.
Investigators said the suspect's girlfriend provided them with Modisette's information.
He was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Bexar County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
