CPS Energy to repair Hurricane Matthew damage in Florida

CPS Energy workers to help in Florida

SAN ANTONIO -- CPS Energy sent a crew of 53 people to Florida to help people there recover from the effects of Hurricane Matthew.

The workers will help with storm reparations.

CPS Energy said its teams are "go to" players in emergencies.

In Dec. 2015, about 30 workers traveled to Oklahoma to help restore power after an ice storm.

It's not clear how long the crew will be in Florida.

There are reportedly more than 380,000 customers without power there.
