Shirley Underwood described her home as "a wiggly worm", "a pretzel" and "a cheese curl". That is what it looked like after it was moved to its new location. Underwood hired John Nolan to move her trailer. She said Nolan destroyed her home in the process.
Nolan said he has moved mobile homes for 25 years, and never had anything like this happen before. He also said he would help to make it right. But he failed to follow through on that commitment.
Rhonda Lopez doesn't even have a house. She bought a home from Manuel Gonzalez, a home mover. He was supposed to put it on her lot, and even cleared some trees to do that. But, that was as far as it got. When KENS 5 spoke to Gonzalez, he promised to repay Lopez by July 10. But Lopez said she hasn't seen a penny yet. So, Lopez filed theft charges.
Then there is Lupita Hernandez. She booked the Roseland Ballroom for her daughter's quineneara. The problem is the owner, Rene Hernandez, failed to notify his customers when he closed the facility. Even though he said he would reopen the ballroom in another location, he had no idea where that would be. He promised to give Lupita her money back. But he renegged.
