A new store in northeast San Antonio opened with a bang Friday morning: Huge bargains for a buck!
What can you buy for a dollar these days, anyway? Not much, but at the 99 Cent Only store on Friday, it bought a lot.
Long before they cut the ribbon to officially open the store, hundreds lined up outside the store in the 2900 block of Thousand Oaks.
The first nine customers through the door were able to but a flat-screen TV for just a dollar.
Cynthia Thomas says she felt like a walking zombie after waiting in line that long.
"I just won a 22-inch flat screen TV. I am excited!" she said.
"It feels good, it feels good. I'm gonna hang it up on my wall," said Javier Gamez, another lucky TV buyer.
Thursday night, there were more than 30 people in the lot spending the night, the store's manager said. The line swelled to about 250 by Friday morning.
No one was left empty-handed. The next 99 customers took off on scooters for 99 cents.
And great deals for 99 cents will continue for the next nine days, the store manager promised.
