Marianna Morris says she loves change. That's why she wanted to mix up her landscaping. She noticed a guy working in her neighbor's yard and contracted with him to do the changes. They agreed on a price of $1000. Morris says the man, Lewis Pierce told her he needed $700 up front for materials. She wrote a check, made out to Pierce's mother. Two weeks later Lewis Pierce was nowhere to be found and he wasn't answering his phone.
Eventually Pierce showed back up at Morris' home. he explained that he had been in the hospital and was going through a divorce and things were tough right now. he also promised to finish the job, but he needed the other $300 for plants. Morris reluctantly wrote him another check. One year later, the yard work is finished...but not by Pierce. Marianne had had enough. She called Eyewitness Wants To Know.
We went to the address Pierce listed as his business, but it was his mother's home. His mother answered the door and was embarrassed by what he told her Lewis had done. She apologized and offered to write us a check to give to Morris. Instead we took Mrs. Pierce's phone number and gave it to Marianna Morris. She called Pierce and the two women reached an agreement for Morris to get her money back.
