SAN ANTONIO -- Angie Lujan says she can feel the heat difference between the ground floor and the second floor of her home. That’s why she and her husband Edward decided to have a radiant barrier sprayed on the under-side of the roof decking in their attic.
The Lujan's signed a contract with Stone Oak Superior Decks & More. The company would be paid $3750 to spray the barrier. The Lujan's gave them a down payment of $1000 and the work was to begin the next week.
When workers failed to show up, Edward called the company. He says he spoke with owner Keith Jones who assured them they would be there the next week. When workers failed to show up again, the Lujan's called and say they were told they didn’t have enough material in stock so it would have to be done the next week.
The next week the Lujan's, who were growing weary of the process says they were told the company had made an error on their bid. They needed more money to complete the job. Edward Lujan told them just forget it and give me my money back.
Jones, according to the Lujan's said he would put a check in the mail. That check never arrived despite numerous follow-up calls. That’s when the Lujan's contacted Eyewitness Wants To Know.
We met with Jones at his office and he said he never intended to not give the Lujan's a refund. He said he had been dealing with his severely ill mother, but he immediately sat down and wrote the Lujan's a check and placed it in the mail.
