HEB gives $2 million to Morgan's Wonderland for 'Inspiration Island'

SAN ANTONIO - SAN ANTONIO – HEB employees threw a Christmas party for children from Respite Daycare and The Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland.

The party featured Santa, holiday crafts, and a gift of $2 million.

The money will go towards the construction of Morgan’s Inspiration Island, “the world’s first ultra-accessible splash park,” according to Morgan’s Wonderland, which is scheduled to open next spring.

The park say that the island will feature a river boat adventure ride and five water play areas filled with attractions.

“This donation is our way of saying thank you for creating an inclusive and inspiring space for children of all ages and abilities to learn and play together,” HEB Public Affairs Manager Julie Bedingfield in a press release.

Morgan’s Wonderland is a theme park in which all attractions are accessible to people with special needs and their families. The Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland is a school for special needs kids ages 12-24.
