The Alamo and Alamo Plaza

The Better Block project is underway in downtown San Antonio.

The community is invited to stop, re-think and re-imagine all that Alamo Plaza can be. From now until 1 p.m. Saturday there will be pop-up markets, a scavenger hunt and live music. Friday night will feature an historical lantern tour, al fresco dining and lots of other engaging activities for the entire family.

Volunteers from the San Antonio Living History Association will also be on hand both days with lively interpretive demonstrations of what life was like for early San Antonians.

The concept behind the event is to return residents to the heart of the city by discovering and experiencing new options for Alamo Plaza.

The event closes at 11 p.m. Friday and gets going again Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Feedback will be appreciated.
