Blue light special: Art show features students' expression in shades of blue

Please adjust your vision. Photography students at Northwest Vista College want you to start seeing blue. Well, at least, for one night. They are putting on an art show focused on the color blue.

Deborah Keller-Rihn says the show will feature about 40 of her students Friday night at the Blue Star Arts Complex. The event is from 6-11 pm.

Why blue? Keller-Rihn says besides the location of her gallery blue is calming. The color is also associated with loyalty, trust, wisdom, faith, truth, and heaven.

The students will present their work as their final project in her photography class. While blues music is playing, blue food is being served, framed in a blue decorated room, the students will showcase digital artwork and interpretations of the color blue.

The event is free. The Keller-Rihn Studio and Gallery is located at 1420 S. Alamo.
