We are now less than five months from Election Day, which falls on Nov. 2.
KENS 5's Jeff Vaughn sat down with Gov. Rick Perry to talk about how his campaign is progressing.
During the 20-minute interview, the governor talked about the Arizona immigration law, the occasions when he carries a weapon and his presidential aspirations.
KENS 5: "Very simply, will you run for president in 2012?"
Gov. Perry: "Very simply, no."
KENS 5: "Well, why not?"
Gov. Perry: "I've got the best job in the world. I frankly don't have an interest in going to Washington, D.C. I hope for someone who has the passion and desire that we can support, and we'll have a new president in 2012."
