Wednesday night marked the kickoff to the tenth year of the free music concert series at County Line BBQ benefiting the San Antonio Food Bank. The's concert was the first since Randy Goss, who started the series, was killed.
Goss died February 3 when his car was swept away by flood waters into Cibolo Creek.
Goss was known as "The Rib King" of San Antonio. He was co-owner of County Line BBQ.
His wife of 31 years, Julie, said, "He had the sweetest heart a man could have, the biggest heart. I'm so blessed that I knew how much he loved me.. since we were kids. He was my best friend, the love of my life."
She said she's getting by through her faith and good friends, but she admits this has been hard for both her and her two children. Julie said, "They're having a hard time. They miss their dad. He was the greatest dad and husband anyone would want so we miss him."
The Free Concert Series will take place every Wednesday night through October from 6:30pm-10pm at County Line BBQ on I-10 and Dezavala Road. People are encouraged to bring a donation to the San Antonio Food Bank.
