CHINA GROVE -- Tests have revealed that a suspicious package found inside an RV did not contain any illegal drugs, border agents say.
A China Grove man found the package inside an RV that he recently purchased. Thinking the package contained bundles of heroin, he turned it over to authorities.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection released a statement on Wednesday, saying tests "conclusively reveal the packages did not contain narcotic substances of any type."
Border patrol agents said the bundles were probably used in training exercises and someone just forgot to recover them when the training was completed.
