There's a San Antonio based security company that's doing more than catching criminals in the act. The company is called ProVigil and it produces camera security systems, which have proven to be especially useful around construction sites.

The cameras are watched all night by ProVigil employees. If one of them sees something suspicious, they can either sound the alarm or call police.

"When we set this alarm off..they'll go running..it's the knuckleheads that will stay on the site," says regional sales director Pete Ballard.

Ballard showed KENS 5 recent surveillance video of two suspects who were caught jumping a fence. However once they heard the alarm system, the pair was quick to leave the property. The live monitoring system is helping project supervisors like Randy Osburn, who has had to deal with plenty of theft problems.

"A lot of times they try to get into your job trailer and try to get your power tools and stuff like that. Things they can turn for quick cash, " says Osburn.

He says the ProVigil security is helping to keep his site secure and his employees know they're being watched. As a result, they're staying more on task.

ProVigil employees say the majority of theft occurs between October and December, around the holiday season. So far this year police have made 14 arrests as a direct result of suspects who were discovered by the live security system.
