UPDATE:  Larry Castro turned himself in to authorities Monday afternoon. SAPD continues their search for the third suspect accused of beating a San Antonio man to death on October 15. Jose Velez remains on the loose as of Monday evening.

SAN ANTONIO — A man wanted for murder has surrendered to local authorities.

San Antonio police Sgt. Javier Salazar said 25-year-old Bernardo Crisanto was arrested for his role in the beating death of Juan Romero.

They say he and two other people attacked Romero on Oct. 15 in the 1500 block of Vance Jackson.

"My understanding is that any one of these three suspects was large enough, by himself, to inflict quite a bit of injury to our victim," Salazar said. "Multiply that times three and you can imagine the magnitude of the assault."

Police recently issued a murder warrant for Jose Velez -- the second suspect. They say the third suspect is Larry Castro.

If you have information on the whereabouts of Velez or Castro, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP.
