SAN ANTONIO — Police were searching Tuesday morning for a man they say tossed drugs out his car window as he fled from officers.

Officers said they spotted the suspect driving erratically near I-10 and DeZavala Road just after midnight on Tuesday morning.

The man refused to stop, and led officers on a short chase that exceeded 60 mph.

During the chase, police said the man could be seen throwing drugs out of the car window, such as marijuana and pills.

The man eventually pulled his car into the Hillstone Apartment complex off Prue Road and ran away.

Police said they searched the area by helicopter and with K-9 units. They found more drugs, but could not locate the suspect.

Officers said they found a man that fit the suspect's description, but that it was not the actual suspect. However, that man was arrested for giving police false information.
