SAN ANTONIO -- Police have located the Chevy Colorado believed to have been involved in the hit-and-run that killed a 9-year-old girl in north San Antonio.
The pewter-colored pickup truck was found in the 100 block of Fay St., on the city's south side, according to the San Antonio Police Department. However, no occupants were inside by the time police arrived.
"It does appear we have recovered a vehicle on South which may be our hit and run vehicle. We are talking to persons of interest, but no arrests have been made yet. Details will be released as soon as possible," SAPD posted to its Facebook page Friday morning.
Officers confiscated the vehicle and had it transported to the SAPD 9th Street impound lot for processing, police said.
Investigators said the driver of the truck hit Tatyana Babineaux as she was walking to school in the 1700 block of Braesview and did not stop. Nearby crossing guards reported seeing the said truck fleeing the area with damage to its front end.
The suspect is still at-large.
