BALCONES HEIGHTS -- A doughnut shop, a beauty supply store and a title loan business all looked like bullseyes for two slingshot-happy suspects on the city's northwest side.

According to an arrest affidavit, 19-year-old Jose Carlos Villegas and 20-year-old Cesar Rafael Zuniga targeted dozens of businesses in the Balcones Heights area as one drove the car and the other took aim with a wrist rocket.

The pair made numerous trips down busy roads like Fredericksburg, shooting out windows. Balcones Heights police said at least one customer was sent to the hospital after getting sprayed by broken glass.

Investigators fingered Villegas and Zuniga as the suspects after a business caught their vehicle on security camera, according to the affidavit.

Police said the pair confessed to the shooting spree and were both charged with criminal mischief.
