SAN ANTONIO -- Police were searching for an armed robber who knocked off a north-side gas station for $50 early Tuesday morning.
The suspect, wearing a red and black bandanna over his hair and a red bandanna over his face, entered the Exxon store around 4 a.m. with what appeared to be a handgun, San Antonio police said.
The suspect demanded cash and fired a single shot while running away from the gas station, police said.
Officers closed off the area and launched the department's Blue Eagle helicopter but were unable to find the suspect.
Upon investigating, police said the suspect's weapon was actually a pellet gun.
