SAN ANTONIO -- Police say they're searching for four suspects who attacked a man and shot him in the foot once they found out he had no money.
The victim told police he was walking on Gay Boulevard near Edna Avenue when the suspects drove up in a vehicle and demanded money.
He was allegedly knocked to the ground and assaulted by the four men after telling them he didn't have any cash. He told police that one of the suspects pulled out a gun during the beating and shot him in the foot.
Police said the victim was able to hobble two blocks to his home and call 911. He was taken to downtown Metro Hospital.
The victim described the suspects' car as a green, four-door Mercury Grand Marquis with white top.
