San Antonio police are on the hunt for a suspect who pistol-whipped a man and then stole his father's truck.

Police investigators said the call for the aggravated robbery came from the 3900 block of I-35 North just after 3 a.m. Monday. The victim had walked to a nearby motel for help.

Police said the victim picked up a man he didn't know. He claimed the man started smoking marijuana.

He said the man then asked him to hand over his valuables. Investigators said the victim thought his passenger was joking.

The man then told police that the suspect pulled out a gun and started bashing the victim in his head. He made the victim get out of the black 2010 Nissan Titan truck.

Investigators said the suspect then took the victim's wallet and cell phone and drove away with his truck.

Officers said the vehicle belongs to the victim's father. The stolen truck has a Vietnam veteran's sticker in the window. There are also reports of a special ops decal on the truck, as well.
