Police have arrested a local man they say stole parts of a south-side train track.

Authorities say 39-year-old Samuel David Kennedy stole pieces of the metal rail and trestle from tracks in the 12600 block of Southton Road back in April.

He was arrested Wednesday night after police caught him allegedly trying to sell the metal to a local scrap yard.

Kennedy is in the Bexar County Jail on bonds totaling $20,000.
