SAN ANTONIO -- A Family Dollar store clerk was attacked late Sunday night by a man who police say hid in the bathroom until closing time.
Police were called to the Family Dollar in the 8600 block of South Zarzamora in report of a robbery just after 10 p.m.
The store clerk, who was bleeding from the head, told police he was confronted by a man in black as employees were getting ready to close the store.
Police said the suspect threatened the cashier with a gun and demanded money before hitting him in the head with the weapon.
The robber grabbed all the money from the register and fled in what witnesses described to police as a white pickup truck with a U.S. Marine Corps sticker in the rear window.
Officers reviewed surveillance video following the attack.
