SAN ANTONIO -- A 19-year-old man was rushed to the hospital on Thursday morning after he was shot multiple times, police say.
The man pulled up to the Gibbs Mart at the intersection of Gibbs Sprawl and Walzem Road around 8:45 a.m. and told the store clerk he had been shot, San Antonio police said.
The victim was later identified as Nicholas Ornelas.
Police Sgt. Ramiro Juarez said officers found drugs inside the Honda Accord that Ornelas was driving.
"He's not saying where it happened, how it happened," Ramiro said. "Based off some of the evidence we've recovered, we're thinking it might have something to do with a possible drug deal gone bad."
Ornelas was rushed to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.
